bayou segnette park

Visit Bayou Segnette State Park nestled in the natural beauty of Louisiana's swamp lands, a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. From the boat launch, you may explore many areas not readily accessible by land routes. Both salt and freshwater fishing are available, as well as boating, swimming and making a splash in the wavepool.

Take a trip to Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island, Grand Isle. Grand Isle State Park features a 400-foot long public fishing pier where it has been reported more than 280 species of fish live in the waters surrounding this sandy isle. Boat charters are readily available for your fishing excursion, or you can unwind with a walk along the beach or on the park's nature trails. Boating, swimming, and other water sports are plentiful, as well as crabbing.
