The 2nd Annual New Orleans Kitten Bowl & Tailgate Party is a free event and will be held Saturday, January 31st - Sunday, February 1st at the Big Easy Sportsplex from 11:00 am - 3 pm, both days. The adorable, athletic Who Dat Cats and French Quarter Felines will take the field of their very own “Supurrdome" to showcase their paw-some skills. With fun games, opportunities to win amazing raffle items, and half-time entertainment, the New Orleans Kitten Bowl is fun for people of all ages. The Jefferson SPCA is one of only ten animal advocacy programs to receive an exclusive invitation from the North Shore Animal League America and Hallmark Channel’s 2015 National Kitten Bowl competition. Last year the Jefferson SPCA took first place, in the national competition, with 40 adoptions. We need your help in making this year a huge success! The organization with the most adoptions is granted a cash prize to support local homeless animals.

Gretna Historical Society invites couples in love to live yesterday’s charm of a romantic runaway wedding by marrying on Valentine’s Day at the Gretna Green Blacksmith Shop, a part of the historical society Museum Complex at 209 Lafayette St. There are no mass ceremonies. At the River the King of Zulu and the King of Argus parades and royal courts meet and toast to Fat Tuesday, live music, games, food, and more! The highlight of Lundi Gras is the noon arrival and meeting of the royal courts of the Krewe of Argus of Metairie and the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club of New Orleans. Both organizations parade on Mardi Gras Day before thousands of spectators. Kenner's Mayor Michael S. Yenni and the Kenner City Council will be on hand to officially toast and welcome the carnival royalty to Kenner.
