On January 21, 2015 - Boomtown Casino New Orleans, a Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. property (NYSE: PNK), opened its $20 million hotel with 150 rooms and enhanced amenities. The five-story hotel features 17 suites, state-of-the-art fitness and business centers, and expanded parking. Room offerings include Deluxe Queen and King guest rooms with LCD TVs, pillow top mattresses and artwork featuring Louisiana artists; the Cypress Junior Suites with king beds and separate living areas; and the Live Oak King Suites with two separate rooms and 675 square feet of comfortable living space. The hotel offers new meeting space with extensive catering options and complimentary WiFi, including an Executive Boardroom and three new meeting rooms, each seating up to 50. "This is an exciting day for the Boomtown New Orleans team and the West Bank community as we open our brand new hotel. We will be able to better serve our guests with new offerings and attract new visitors and business travelers in the region," said Boomtown Vice President and General Manager Harold Rowland. The Louisiana Society of Association Executives(LSAE) recognized a Kenner executive during its Annual Convention. Carolyn Barrett, CGMP, CHSC, SeniorSales Manager, Jefferson Convention & Visitors Bureau, Kenner, LA receivedthe Executive Member of the Year award for her dedication and contributions tothe society. LSAE held its AnnualConvention at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles on January 28-30, 2015.
The Virgie Ott Tourism Award was created to honor not only it's namesake, Virgie Ott, a dedicated Jefferson Parish tourism advocate formerly with the Gretna Office of Tourism, but to recognize annually an individual who exemplifies dedication, achievements, talent and commitment to Jefferson Parish tourism.

Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five to be considered, volume and recency of reviews are taken into account as well. Additional criteria include a business' tenure and popularity ranking on the site.
