Welcome to Jefferson Parish.  Thank you for your interest.  Jefferson Parish is the largest parish in Louisiana offering a diverse culture and people.

If you want to take in a ball game, or visit historical homes and museums, or maybe spend your day shopping, you can in Jefferson.  From the hustle bustle of Metairie's business district and shopping center, to Kenner's historic Rivertown museums, quiet parks and lively casino, to our westbank's historic donwtown Gretna; where a visit to Huey P. Long Avenue takes you back in time as you visit the German American Cultural Museum, and the Old Courthouse.  Then onto the business of commerce along the mighty Mississippi in Harvey, leading you to the outdoor market and history along Westwego's Sala Street.  From here, you can begin a journey through Barataria Preserve of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park & Preserve.  If fishing is more your style, you can do that too.  A trip to Grand Isle is a "reel" treat.  Along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Grand Isle is home to many fishing rodeos, the months of May through September are filled with rodeos and family activites such as swimming, fishing, crabbing, picnicking and even camping.
