FAMILY GRAS - A CELEBRATION OF

CARNIVAL AND FAMILY

Family Gras is the perfect weekend getaway for family.  Family Gras traditionally takes place on the neutral ground of Veterans Memorial Boulevard across from Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie, Louisiana.  An ideal location to see the pageantry of Mardi Gras and enjoy the FREE outdoor concerts with Live Music on the Festival Plaza Main Stage & The Louisiana Stage from National Artists and Louisiana's Own.

Costuming encouraged...come out for Fright Night Friday wearing your spookiest threads.  Join us Sports Saturday wearing your favorite team colors, dress for the season...purple, green and gold; and on Carnival Sunday!

Flambeau Court food vendors 'cook up' a good time with such favorites as jambalaya, crawfish pasta, muffulettas, pizza and gator-on-a-stick. Enjoy Louisiana goodies like beignets, king cake and cafe au lait!

The Art Market features local and regional artisans booths of specialty arts & crafts available Saturday and Sunday.

Local Hotels feature special packages for your family's comfort.  Discount packages will be provided on this site, check back fall 2010.  Jefferson Parish has accommodations to suit everyone's budget.

Family Gras is suspended until the

2011 carnival season.
