UPDATE: Oil Spill, Gulf of Mexico

The Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau continues to monitor the BP Oil spill in the Gulf.  We will update this website as information becomes available on the status of Grand Isle and Lafitte, Louisiana.

UPDATE: Leaking wellhead - Bayou St. Dennis -July 27, 2010- the Jefferson Parish Sherriff's Office and the U.S. Coast Guard established a 2 mile perimeter around the site of a leaking wellhead found in Bayou St. Dennis, located in lower Jefferson Parish.  Indications are that this leak is unrelated to the BP Oil Spill.  The JCVB will update this site as  information becomes available.
